Due to frost, the 2024 Riesling Trocken Rotschiefer is not from Kinheim but predominantly from the upper part of the Erdener Treppchen as well as from vineyards in Orzig. Vinified exclusively in stainless steel tanks, the wine shows a precise, refined and spicy bouquet of red slate, herbs and delicate but ripe and lush tropical fruit aromas. The wine is round, intense and expressive on the palate, yet it is also light, finessed and enormously saline and long. This is one of the many best buys from Christian Hermann. Alois Lageder Manzoni Bianco is a distinctive Alto Adige white, grown on elevated vineyards with limestone-rich soils. Fermentation and ageing in large wooden casks, often with brief skin contact, give the wine a golden colour, textured palate and savoury depth, while the cool Alpine climate preserves freshness. Manzoni Bianco, also called Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13, is a crossing of Riesling and Pinot Bianco created in the 1930s by Professor Luigi Manzoni. It combines Riesling’s acidity, aromatic lift and ageing potential with Pinot Bianco’s roundness, subtle fruit and balanced structure. The wine typically shows quince, pear, yellow plum, herbs and a light smoky-mineral note. It is concentrated yet energetic, with gentle grip, bright acidity and a dry, saline finish. It pairs especially well with shellfish, rich fish dishes, poultry and white meats.

Since 1984, we have been producing our Riesling sparkling wine in the cellar of the historic Joh. Förster winery in Trier-Süd. Below this Art Nouveau building, there is an extensive multi-story cellar. Those rooms are ideal for maturing sparkling wine using the Champagne method. Generous, finely textured and beautifully balanced, this is a mouth-filling, very long, saline and vital Auslese with a mouthwatering, crystalline finish. The botrytis-free 2024 Orziger Wurzgarten In der Kranklei Riesling Auslese Alte Reben from red slate opens with a concentrated yet elegant, refined and herbal-scented nose with saline notes intermingled with lemony grapefruit notes. Fresh and savory on the palate, this is an elegant, precise, uplifted and still grippy Auslese that doesn't taste really sweet but savory. The 2024 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben opens with a discreet but refined and elegant bouquet that is built on delicacy. Fine, crunchy soil aromas intermingle with polished and very elegant ripe fruit, leading to a palate that is gentle, textured, balanced and very calm rather than dramatic. The finish is crystalline, saline and very stimulating and represents a great noblesse. Nothing here is loud or spectacular besides the finesse. This is a classic. AP 5 25. 8% stated alcohol. 35% Meunier, 33% Chardonnay and 32% Pinot Noir from the estate’s Vallée de la Marne vineyards around Charly-sur-Marne. Fine bubbles with fresh flowers, white fruit, fresh grapes and apricot in syrup. Generous on entry, with delicate persistent fruit supported by light, tangy freshness.

45% Pinot Noir, 25% Meunier and 30% Chardonnay from Premier Cru vineyards. Reserve wine, stainless-steel fermentation, malolactic fermentation and zero dosage. Historical releases received at least 36 months on lees and three months’ rest after disgorgement. Apple, pear, almond and citrus zest with marked acidity, slight phenolic bitterness and a lean finish. Additional professional notes describe flowers, white fruit, butter, a creamy attack and a long, vivid finish.

Blanc de Noire Pinot Noir–Meunier base from Rilly-la-Montagne Premier Cru and Mailly-Champagne Grand Cru, supplemented by 15% red Coteaux Champenois Pinot Noir. Reserve wine, stainless-steel fermentation and malolactic fermentation; historically approximately 7 g/L dosage and at least 36 months on lees, followed by three months’ rest after disgorgement. Red berries and spice with vinous texture, freshness and an attractively crunchy fruit character.

The historic house cuvée, blending 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from the Coteaux Sézannais villages of Sézanne, Barbonne-Fayel, Chantemerle, Bethon and Montgenost. The deeper clay-chalk soils give it more fruit and breadth than the estate’s Côte des Blancs Champagnes. Approximately 70–80% current-vintage wine is combined with 20–30% perpetual-reserve wine. Current wines are raised principally in stainless steel; reserves are stored in stainless steel and large oak vats. Minimum 15 months on lees and a recent dosage around 1–1.5 g/L. It is based on super ripe grapes with moderate must weights. Bottled in April 2025, this is a very elegant, saline and savory Riesling with a fine and crunchy slate grip and a zesty finish. Picked in mid-October, vinified in new and older fuders and bottled in mid-August of 2025 after 10 months on the lees, the 2024 Erdener Treppchen Riesling GG is super aromatic and delivers ripe and lush stone fruit aromas (peaches, yellow plums) intertwined with citrus oil and flinty-nuanced blue slate aromas. Lush and refined on the palate, this is a crunchy, savory and grippy Treppchen GG that is still a little reductive and shows some tannin-like grip, which I assume is the sulfur dose rather than the tannins.12% stated alcohol. From 50-year-old vines on Devonian blue and gray slate with quartz in the soil, the 2024 Losnicher Forsterlay Riesling GG is very delicate and refined on the bright, elegant, filigreed, slatey and spicy nose that shows ripe, yellow fruit aromas intertwined with sur lie notes. Aged in three- to four-year-old fuders for almost a year and bottled in mid-August 2025, this is a very elegant, round and textured Riesling that is currently characterized more by its texture than certain fruit aromas or even soil features. These come out on the finish, which is concentrated, complex, saline and firmly structured, with serious phenol grip and mineral tension, thanks to the nervy quartzite veins of the Forsterlay. A 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru blend representing four Côte des Blancs villages: approximately 60% Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, 20% Oger, 10% Cramant and 10% Chouilly. Mesnil supplies chalky tension, Oger breadth, Cramant finesse and Chouilly ripe fruit. A representative current release contains 70% wine from the 2021 harvest and 30% perpetual-reserve wine. Current wines are vinified in stainless steel and barrels; reserve wines are held in stainless steel and large oak vats. Malolactic fermentation is blocked. 36 months on lees plus approximately one year after disgorgement; previous releases commonly spent at least 36 months on lees. Dosage below 3 g/L. Lemon, yellow apple and fresh stone fruit lead into woodruff, lemon balm, delicate yeast, buttered toast and almond. The palate is taut and chalky, with fine mousse, restrained honeyed fruit and a salty, nutty finish.

Jancis Robinson: I love the ripe, creamy, citrus-drenched tang of this which smells like Greek yogurt swirled through withcaramelised butter. 50% Chardonnay Mareuil-Sur-Aÿ, 44% Pinot noir Mareuil-Sur-Aÿ, 6% Mareuil rouge Jancis Robinson: There is a comforting curve to this wine that is almost, but not quite, plump. It's liquorice, marshmallow and roses,which sounds as if the wine is sweet when it's not – it's bone dry. It's flush with fruity but not fruity. Cherry blossom.Ultra-fine bubbles. Something very honest about this. It tastes as if the wine made from the terroir hasn't been inany way obscured by the champagne winemaking.

20% Chardonnay, 80% Pinot Noir, ac 5.5 g/l, rs 6 g/l, no alo Light yellow-gold tinted colour. Fine and abundant bubbles forming an attractive mousse. Nose: Ripe aromas of fleshy fruits with overtones of Mirabelle plums. Opens up into spices and honey, underlined by candied fruit aromas, bergamot and orange peel. Palate: Fruity and fresh with body and intensity of flavour. Notes of yellow peaches with a slight peppery hint.

70% Meunier and 30% Pinot Noir from the Vallée de la Marne. Brioche and pastry with orange, quince compote and pineapple, developing linden, mirabelle, toast, apricot and gingerbread. Creamy mousse carries rounded fruit and light acidity into a savoury, saline finish.

Signature combines 73% Grand Cru Pinot Noir and 27% Grand Cru Chardonnay. The current assemblage is based on the 2021 harvest and incorporates 35% reserve wines from 2012–2019. Eleven percent of the blend was vinified in oak. Tirage took place in May 2022, with disgorgement listed during 2025/26, providing approximately three to four years of lees maturation. Poached pear and vine peach are joined by roasted and aniseed nuances. Creamy mousse carries red and yellow fruit, chalk and a saline mineral character.

Our Blanc de Blancs is made with our best parcels on the south slopes of Epernay. In ancient times, when a mighty river covered the Saar Valley, the water left behind sand, gravel, and stones. The young Saar River cut its way into its old riverbed and created the steep gravel slope called Saarfeils, which is located on a peninsula and planted with old vines. These vines are deeply rooted, perpendicular to the groundwater without hitting rock. Feils, a particularly warm site, whose soil is similar to the Médoc, impresses with its opulent flavor of fresh herbs. Mint, ethereal notes, and exoticism combine to create a unique dry Saar Riesling. 12.5% abv 63 years old vines rz 5 g/l, ac 6.5 g/l

18% Chardonnay, 12% Bouzy Rouge, 70% Pinot Noir, ac 5 g/l, rz 5 g/l, no malo Soft, pink coloured champagne with abundant, fine bubbles. Nose: Red fruits dominated by wild strawberry and cherry, and the typical peppery note of Pinot Noir. A rosé d’assemblage composed of 92% Grand Cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Chouilly, with 8% still red Pinot Noir from Bouzy Grand Cru. Normally 70% current-vintage wine and 30% perpetual reserve. Current wines are raised in stainless steel and barrels, with reserves held in stainless steel and large oak vats. Malolactic fermentation is blocked. Minimum 30 months on lees; dosage approximately 3 g/L. Pale salmon in colour, with strawberry, raspberry, cherry and rose layered over citrus and chalk. The Bouzy red wine contributes mild tannin, texture and spice without overpowering the Chardonnay’s freshness. Gault&Millau noted restrained red fruit, rose, cherry, gentle tannins and a spicy finish.

This Blanc de Blancs is produced entirely from Grand Cru Chardonnay. Although Ambonnay is particularly renowned for Pinot Noir, its Chardonnay gives the cuvée a fresh, mineral and maritime expression. The current release comes entirely from the 2022 harvest. Producer Twenty percent was vinified in oak. Tirage took place in May 2023 and disgorgement is listed for 2026, corresponding to approximately three years of lees maturation. Fine, lively bubbles introduce floral aromas, citrus and grapefruit zest. The palate combines supple, creamy mousse with white fruit and sharply defined minerality.

50% Pinot Noir from Mailly-Champagne Grand Cru and 50% Chardonnay from Taissy Premier Cru, from approximately 45-year-old vines. Six years on lees. Peach and pear freshness with subtle pastry, ripe vintage fruit and balanced Pinot structure.

The current numbered, limited-release Collection Privée combines 56% Grand Cru Pinot Noir and 44% Grand Cru Chardonnay. Its assemblage contains 75% wine from the 2020 harvest and 25% reserve wine. Thirty-five percent of the blend did not undergo malolactic fermentation. Tirage took place in April 2021, with disgorgement listed during 2025/26, corresponding to approximately four to five years of maturation on the lees. Fine bubbles accompany citrus, biscuit, dried-fruit and roasted aromas. The palate is broad, creamy and unctuous, with sufficient freshness to shape and lengthen the finish.

Perle Noire is made entirely from Grand Cru Pinot Noir and expresses the powerful Blanc de Noirs character associated with Soutiran’s home village of Ambonnay. The current release is based on 2021 and includes 16% reserve wines from 2012–2019. Tirage took place in June 2022, with disgorgement listed during 2025/26, corresponding to approximately three to four years of maturation on the lees. Fig, prune and pineapple frame a rich, fleshy and velvety palate. Ripe-fruit roundness is lifted by minerality, sea-salt salinity and a lively, notably long finish.
