Description

Ungrafted Chardonnay, lieu-dit Ilot des Sables - 2006 Antonio Galloni on April 2025 - The 2006 Brut Nature La Vigne d'Antan is another highlight in this range from Tarlant. Candied ginger, pear, spice and exotic white flowers all grace the palate in a super-refined edition of the Tarlant flagship. All the elements are so well balanced. La Vigne d'Antan emerges from a site near the winery with own-rooted vines on sandy soils. By Kristaps Karklins on May 2025 Robert Parker - The pinnacle pf the range, Tarlant’s 2006 La Vigne d’Antan Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs is sourced from a northeast- and northwest-facing site planted to ungrafted Chardonnay in the lieu-dit les Sables in Oeuilly, where sandy soil helped protect the vines from phylloxera. Aged in oak for seven months and disgorged after 17 years sur lattes, Benoit Tarlant made the decision to release the 2006 ahead of the 2005. It leaps from the glass with aromas of buttered wheat toast, ripe pear, blanched almonds and pastry mingling with green apple. Full-bodied and textural, it is layered and multidimensional, with a generous fruit core but a bright, incisive personality, concluding with a long electric finish. Compared to the 2004 rendition, it is fuller-bodied and more inviting – and I intend that as a compliment. TERROIR - LIEU-DIT “Les Sables” - SUBSOIL Silica-sand from the Lutetian - VILLAGE Œuilly, Vallée de la Marne - SLOPE 15% with a North-East / North-West exposition, over the Marne river - ALTITUDE 135 meters - VINE AGE From three origin roots of tree-married-vines cultivated as in Antiquity, a propagation by layer and massale selection in 1962 by Denise and Geo Tarlant - FARMING Minimum soil disturbance, shallow plowing under the rows and natural grass cover in between the rows. Herbotherapy treatments, Chablis pruning with Poussard method. Green manure or organic fertilisers. - VINTAGE CLIMATE Nice flowering of the vine with a sunny spring, cool summer, hot September. - VARIETY 100% non-grafted Chardonnay WINE - HARVEST 28 September 2006 - TRADITIONAL VINIFICATION Slow press by gravity, spontaneous fermentation and 7 months on the lees in burgundian oak-barrel. No malolactic. Without fining - BOTTLING 2 May 2007 - DISGORGING 17 years ageing on lees in bottle, disgorged on 3 June 2024 - PRODUCTION 1300 bottles

Tarlant - Rose Zero - #165

Tarlant Rose Zero 750ml

Champagne - Rose - 750ml - 299 ILS

~50 % Chardonnay, 44 % Pinot Noir, 6 % Pinot Meunier. The NV (2018) Brut Nature Rosé Zero fleshes out beautifully in the glass, showing gorgeous mid-palate resonance and persistence. The Brut Nature style works so well here, better than in the Blanc, in my view. Cranberry, white pepper, slate and chalk are all wonderfully vivid. - By Antonio Galloni on April 2025

Cranberry, game, mint and crushed raspberry all take shape in this 100% Pinot Noir. This is a wine for the dinner table. I loved it. - By Antonio Galloni on April 2025
