2023 - Tokaj - Dry - 750ml - 155 ILS
Teleki is more than a vineyard name: it is one of the historic sites on Tokaj Hill. Recorded among the Crown Estate vineyards in 1749, it carries the long memory of a region whose boundaries and wine laws were already being defined in the eighteenth century. Bott Pince farms a rare, roughly 80-year-old mixed planting of Furmint and Hárslevelű on the hill’s warm southern side.
The vines are head-trained, horse-ploughed and naturally self-regulating: old plants that reliably ripen only the small crop they can carry to full maturity, without the need for green harvest. This is a true field blend rather than a formula—Furmint bringing freshness, structure and mineral drive; Hárslevelű adding white flowers, gentle spice and texture. Expect orchard fruit, citrus peel, dried herbs and a quietly volcanic, saline finish. A particularly soulful dry Tokaj for roast chicken, grilled fish, mushroom dishes or aged sheep’s cheese.
