Description
Barbeito Verdelho Old Reserve 10 Year Old is a medium-dry Madeira made exclusively from Verdelho grown in quality vineyards in São Vicente and Prazeres. Fermentation is arrested with grape spirit, and the wine matures for more than ten years in French oak casks using the traditional canteiro method. Blending wines from Barbeito’s temperature-stable warehouses creates a poised balance between gentle sweetness and vivid acidity. Golden in colour, it offers aromas of polished wood, ripe citrus, flowers, white sultanas and honey. The palate is smooth and lightly mineral, driven by fresh, energetic acidity into a long, persistent finish. Serve at 11–12°C as an aperitif or with consommé, smoked salmon, cured ham, pâté, or pasta with clams and orange.
