Description

A true mini Barolo. Nebbiolo from the family’s vineyards, sourced from the lower parcels of Rive in La Morra and Scarrone in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo zone. After a relatively short maceration that preserves freshness and perfume, the wine ages for 18 months in traditional 85-hectolitre oak botti. Rose, ripe strawberry and raspberry mingle with herbs and delicate spice. Precise and balanced on the palate, with bright acidity, fine tannins and remarkable length for the category. Traditional yet approachable now with pasta, mushrooms, charcuterie or veal; it will also develop gracefully for several years.

A classic Barolo from a great vintage, regarded as one of Piedmont’s strongest in decades. This traditional blend brings together approximately 30% Rive in La Morra, 30% Scarrone in Castiglione Falletto, and 40% Baudana and Broglio in Serralunga d’Alba. La Morra contributes perfume and softness; Scarrone adds flowing tannin and depth; Serralunga provides structure, acidity and ageing potential. The wine is made in a traditional style and matured in large oak casks. Red and dark cherry, rose, mountain herbs, eucalyptus, truffle and spice lead into crisp cherry, blood orange, black plum, tar and star anise. The tannins are firm and serious yet polished, while the acidity gives the wine energy and finesse. Hold for a few more years, or decant generously if opening now. 14.5% alcohol. (Cellar Selection).

A traditional Barolo from a warm, generous vintage, combining the family’s vineyards across La Morra, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba. It is more open and expressive than the 2021, while retaining the classic structure and savoury detail of Nebbiolo. Rose, ripe red berries, menthol and sun-warmed earth lead into dried black cherry, star anise and tobacco. Full-bodied and enveloping, with seasoned tannins and a long, savoury finish. Decant for around an hour and serve with mushroom risotto, veal, duck or aged cheese. 14.5% alcohol..
