The wine comes from sun-exposed hillside vineyards in Monção e Melgaço, planted on poor granitic soils. It is made from 100% Alvarinho harvested relatively early to retain aromatic freshness. Whole destemmed grapes are pressed and fermented slowly at low temperature, followed by at least three months on fine lees with regular bâtonnage. The wine shows lemon, grapefruit and mineral notes, with fine acidity, freshness and a long, lightly saline finish. It is ideal with shellfish, grilled fish, sushi, salads and fresh goat cheese

Expressões represents Anselmo Mendes’s extensive work with Alvarinho fermented and matured in barrel. Fruit is selected from parcels at Quinta da Torre in Monção, where variations in soil allow Mendes to build a layered, complex interpretation of the variety. Fermentation takes place in French oak, followed by extended lees and bottle ageing. The wine combines jasmine and orange blossom with almond, restrained vanilla and mineral freshness. Alvarinho’s naturally firm acidity prevents the barrel-derived texture from becoming heavy, creating a structured and gastronomic white with a long finish and strong ageing potential. Serve it with lobster, rich fish dishes, poultry or creamy sauces.

arcela Única is made exclusively from Alvarinho grown in one selected Monção e Melgaço parcel. Whole grapes are gently pressed, followed by long cold clarification, fermentation in new 400-litre French oak barrels and nine months of barrel ageing with bâtonnage. Additional bottle maturation allows the oak and fruit to integrate. Its profile is complex and restrained rather than overtly fruity, with wild flowers, hay, wet stone, hazelnut and subtle vanilla. Refreshing acidity gives the palate a vertical, precise shape, while delicate smoky notes lead into a long and elegant finish. It is particularly suitable for shellfish, roast fish and refined poultry dishes
