Pertois-Moriset - L'Assemblage - #31

Pertois-Moriset L'Assemblage 750ml

Champagne - 1. Assemblage - 750ml - 178 ILS

The historic house cuvée, blending 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from the Coteaux Sézannais villages of Sézanne, Barbonne-Fayel, Chantemerle, Bethon and Montgenost. The deeper clay-chalk soils give it more fruit and breadth than the estate’s Côte des Blancs Champagnes. Approximately 70–80% current-vintage wine is combined with 20–30% perpetual-reserve wine. Current wines are raised principally in stainless steel; reserves are stored in stainless steel and large oak vats. Minimum 15 months on lees and a recent dosage around 1–1.5 g/L. Rounded and approachable, with pear, green apple, peach, white currant and citrus, developing almond, biscuit and brioche. Pinot Noir adds body and light red-fruit notes, while Chardonnay and the very low dosage produce a fresh, clean finish., describing pear, peach, white currant, light cherry and biscuit, with fresh acidity and yellow-apple fruit.

Pertois-Moriset - La Collection Rosé Blanc - Grand Cru - Extra Brut - #33

Pertois-Moriset La Collection Rosé Blanc - Grand Cru - Extra Brut 750ml

Champagne - Rose - 750ml - 240 ILS

A rosé d’assemblage composed of 92% Grand Cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Chouilly, with 8% still red Pinot Noir from Bouzy Grand Cru. Normally 70% current-vintage wine and 30% perpetual reserve. Current wines are raised in stainless steel and barrels, with reserves held in stainless steel and large oak vats. Malolactic fermentation is blocked. Minimum 30 months on lees; dosage approximately 3 g/L. Pale salmon in colour, with strawberry, raspberry, cherry and rose layered over citrus and chalk. The Bouzy red wine contributes mild tannin, texture and spice without overpowering the Chardonnay’s freshness. Gault&Millau noted restrained red fruit, rose, cherry, gentle tannins and a spicy finish.

Pertois-Moriset - Mono-Village 2018 - Chouilly Grand Cru - BdB - #39-2-2018

Pertois-Moriset Mono-Village 2018 - Chouilly Grand Cru - BdB 750ml

2018 - Champagne - 2. Blanc de Blanc - 750ml - 350 ILS

Made from 100% Chardonnay grown in Chouilly. Sources identify three principal lieux-dits: Le Mont Aïgu, Le Fond derrière Mont Aïgu and Le Fond du Bateau. Average vine age is reported at approximately 58 years. Chouilly, at the northern end of the Côte des Blancs, commonly gives ripe, creamy Chardonnay with generous fruit. The wine was vinified 78% in stainless steel and 22% in barrels. It was bottled in July 2019 and disgorged in April 2023 after 48 months on lees. Dosage was 1.5 g/L. Yellow apple, pomelo and lime peel combine with chamomile, blond tobacco, toast and stony notes. It is straighter and cooler than Oger despite the warm vintage, with vivid acidity, delicate ripe fruit, chalky minerality and a long, lightly creamy finish.

Pertois-Moriset - Mono-Village 2018 - Cramant Grand Cru - BdB - #39-1-2018

Pertois-Moriset Mono-Village 2018 - Cramant Grand Cru - BdB 750ml

2018 - Champagne - 2. Blanc de Blanc - 750ml - 350 ILS

Made from five Cramant sites: Les Ricys, Le Bas des Ormes, Les Bergeries au Levant, Les Bionnes and Chemin de Châlons. The parcels total approximately 0.82 hectare, with vines averaging around 50 years. The wine is 100% Chardonnay from 2018, vinified 78% in stainless steel and 22% in barrels. It was bottled on 18 July 2019 and disgorged in April 2023 after 48 months on lees. Dosage was 1.5 g/L. Production comprised 3,360 bottles and 149 magnums. Citrus acidity and crisp greengage initially produce a cool, tightly wound impression. Beeswax and yellow fruit provide warmth as the wine opens, while fine bubbles and a saline finish maintain precision and refreshment.

Pertois-Moriset - Mono-Village BdB - Grand Cru Oger - 2018 - #36-2018

Pertois-Moriset Mono-Village BdB - Grand Cru Oger - 2018 750ml

2018 - Champagne - 2. Blanc de Blanc - 750ml - 350 ILS

Made from 100% Chardonnay grown in four Oger parcels totalling approximately 0.59 hectare. Oger typically produces a powerful, ripe and comparatively rounded expression of Côte des Blancs Chardonnay. The 2018 base wine was vinified approximately 78–80% in stainless steel and 20–22% in barrels, with malolactic fermentation blocked. Tirage took place in July 2019. The original bottle release spent approximately 48 months on lees. Dosage was around 1.5–2 g/L. Yellow apple, ripe stone fruit, brioche, toast and subtle vanilla are supported by chalk and fresh acidity. It is broad, creamy and generous but retains a dense mineral core, fine mousse and a long finish.

Pertois-Moriset - Hautes Mottes 2016 BdB - Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger - #37-2016

Pertois-Moriset Hautes Mottes 2016 BdB - Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger 750ml

2016 - Champagne - 2. Blanc de Blanc - 750ml - 440 ILS

The cuvée comes from two nearby Le Mesnil-sur-Oger parcels measuring 32.64 and 34.28 ares, approximately 0.67 hectare combined. They are situated near the bottom of the slope, face east and have poor soil over compact, shallow-rooted chalk. The vines averaged approximately 16 years of age for this release. The wine is 100% Chardonnay from 2016, vinified 80% in stainless steel and 20% in barrels. It was bottled on 13 July 2017 and disgorged in April 2023 after at least 60 months on lees. Dosage was 1.5 g/L. Production comprised 1,922 bottles and 120 magnums. A restrained, chalk-focused Champagne showing lemon, grapefruit, crisp pear, white flowers and linden. Subtle dried nuts and controlled barrel complexity emerge with air. The palate is firm, linear and saline, making this arguably the strictest and most mineral of the three listed 2016 parcel wines.

Pertois-Moriset - Jeamprins - 2016 - BdB - Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger - #37-2-2016

Pertois-Moriset Jeamprins - 2016 - BdB - Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger 750ml

2016 - Champagne - 2. Blanc de Blanc - 750ml - 440 ILS

A 0.91-hectare parcel at the southern edge of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, close to Vertus. The approximately 45-year-old vines are affected by court-noué, or fanleaf virus. This reduces yield but, according to the producer, gives concentrated grapes that retain excellent acidity. The wine is 100% Chardonnay from 2016, vinified 80% in stainless steel and 20% in barrels. It was bottled on 13 July 2017 and disgorged in April 2023 after at least 60 months on lees. Dosage was 1.5 g/L. Production comprised 1,858 bottles and 100 magnums. Lemon cream, toast and fresh wood develop into stewed yellow fruit, pistachio cream and spice. The palate is taut, sharply sculpted and chalk-coated, with sweet citrus, strong acidity and an energetic finish

Pertois-Moriset - Jutées - 2016 - BdB - Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger - #37-1-2016

Pertois-Moriset Jutées - 2016 - BdB - Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger 750ml

2016 - Champagne - 2. Blanc de Blanc - 750ml - 440 ILS

A single 0.77-hectare Le Mesnil-sur-Oger parcel planted in 1979. The 2016 grapes were harvested on 5 October. The wine is 100% Chardonnay from the 2016 harvest. Malolactic fermentation was blocked. It was fermented and raised 60% in stainless steel and 40% in barrels, followed by approximately nine months on fine lees without bâtonnage. Bottled on 24 July 2017 and aged for roughly 5½ years on lees. It was released without added dosage, with approximately 1.1 g/L residual sugar. Linden blossom, hay, honeyed flowers and yellow fruit lead into toast, coffee and caramel as the wine opens. Blood orange, grapefruit and kumquat brighten the palate, followed by herbs, vanilla and light woody tannin. Gault&Millau praised for lime, white flowers, damp chalk and an exceptionally long, sapid finish.
